The Australian Heart of the Hanwha Redback IFV: Powered by REDARC Defence & Space
We are proud to announce a significant manufacturing partnership with Hanwha Defence Australia to deliver critical components for the Australian Army’s 129 new Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFV). This work is being delivered under the Department of Defence’s LAND 400 Phase 3 project, one of the most significant capability upgrades in the Army’s history.
As a proven provider of ruggedised electrical solutions, our team is manufacturing a highly complex suite of electrical and control units under a build-to-print arrangement.
Modern armoured vehicles rely heavily on advanced electronics to operate safely and effectively in the most demanding environments. The systems being manufactured at our advanced facility in South Australia essentially form the electronic nervous system of the Redback IFV, managing critical power distribution and signal routing.
The suite of components being manufactured are essential for the vehicle’s operation, mobility, power architecture and communications management. Manufactured right here in Australia, this partnership underscores our ongoing commitment to strengthening the nation’s sovereign industrial capability. By leveraging our local advanced manufacturing facility and highly skilled workforce, we are helping to ensure the Australian Defence Force is equipped with world-class technology that is built, tested, and supported locally.
The Hanwha Redback IFV represents a generational leap forward in protection, mobility, and firepower for the Australian Army. Designed to operate alongside the Abrams fleet as part of the wider Combined Arms Fighting System, it offers unparalleled crew survivability and advanced lethality.
We are thrilled to play a key role in bringing this state-of-the-art vehicle to life and look forward to a continued, strong partnership with Hanwha Defence Australia as we deliver essential capability to the Australian warfighter.
